The Umbrella

About the Octogenarian Entrepreneur

Octogenarian Entrepreneur isn’t a single product. It’s the home for everything one person decided was worth making — after a lifetime that could have easily justified sitting still.

One founder, many projects.

Behind every venture here is Wendell Engelstad: a husband of 50+ years, father, grandfather, and lifelong problem-solver who has worked across farming, finance, real estate, public service, and volunteerism. Retirement didn’t take. There was too much left to build.

Each project on this site stands on its own — different audiences, different needs, different storefronts. What they share is the person behind them and the instinct that drives them: notice the pattern, then make something genuinely useful out of it.

What ties them together.

Not a theme or a category — a way of working.

Earned perspective over borrowed opinion. Signal over noise. A little humor, aimed at the people paying attention. And a refusal to ship anything that isn’t actually worth someone’s time or money.

What you’ll find here.

Right now: Wear Wisdom Well — thoughtful graphic apparel, sold on Etsy — and DIY Bonded Titles — step-by-step vehicle-title guides for all 50 states, sold on Gumroad.

More will be added over time. This page is simply the front door.

Wise enough to know better. Bold enough to do it anyway.
